Refreshed & Ready!

Happy 2013! With a new year comes new motivation, goals, and resolutions. I've been pretty quiet on the blog all winter long but as of the new year will be refreshing it and getting back into sharing with you my favorite inspirations. If you're wondering what on earth I've been doing check out my company Gold Lemon Creative, it was a busy fall and we're gearing up for an even busier spring but are excited for all of the tasks, projects, and collaborations we're working on. The Smoking Slipper

The all hail ballet flat may have a new competitor - The Smoking Slipper. Thanks to Hugh Hefner who's been wearing the style for YEARS we can now all enjoy some of his luxuries. I bought an amazing black velvet Kelsi Dagger pair last fall & couldn't get enough of them. I'll definitely be stocking up on more! Don't fret look no further than the nearest shoe store & you'll be able to find a pair!

The Panama Hat

I've had a mild obsession over Panama Hats the last couple years but am still in search of the perfect one. I love how they make any outfit look 'oh so' chic & are the absolute classic accessory. Here's a collection of my favorite photos I've found of them in the last little while.

Chloe Resort 2013 Collection

Here's are some of my favorite looks from the beautiful Chloe Resort 2013 Collection.  The use of crisp materials mixed with loose shapes evokes this laid back, whimsical look with a feel of the eighties peaking through.  I love the  bright whites, soft pastels, and pops of black throughout.  One of my favorite pieces is the oversized square - handkerchief style dress cinched at the waist with embroidery.  I have one in my closet that is similar and it's incredibly comfy & easy. I also might add that dungarees have never looked so good. In my opinion they're always on the edge of the opposite of chic.  Here I love how designer Clare Waight Keller has paired them with structured, shoulder bearing tops to balance out the loose bottoms.

To me this collection say's "I'm the ultimate summer day in the city or at the beach house"...

Oh Canada!

Happy Canada Day long weekend!  As we all file out of the city excited for the beloved extra day to our weekend be thankful for the beautiful country we live in.  This weekend wouldn't be complete without a flannel shirt, jean shorts, a white tee, & your favorite bikini in case the sun decides to come out!  Enjoy your weekend, drink wine, wear red & white, & gather with friends to celebrate another year older!

P.S. If you've got one of the coveted Hudson Bay blankets then this is the weekend to cozy up in it!
